CHRISTmas =)

I used to believe that santa claus exists. During my primary school years, my siblings and i would always kneel down at the window on christmas eve and make our wishes for the presents that we wanted. And without fail, there would always be a pile of presents placed by the window the next morning and my dear mummy never fails to convince us that it was santa who placed the presents there.

I loved Christmas... because there would always be gifts by the window and chocolates in the socks..

After a few years, I learned of a greater gift. A gift that is much more than chocolates in the christmas socks and presents nicely wrapped with cute wrappers...
This gift came long time ago and it's still precious in the the hearts of many...
This gift is the reason why we celebrate Christmas...
This gift is Jesus Christ...

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." -- John 3:16-17

I love Christmas now.. not just because of the chocolates and nicely wrapped presents but also of the precious gift that God had given to us..

Christmas is indeed a time of celebration and the focus of the celebration should be Jesus Christ. Without the birth of Jesus, there would not be any christmas at all..

Putting Christ back to Christmas again..

a time for the blue sky...

"Today's sky is so blue! Go look!!!"
one sms brought me to the window and made me looked at the sky..

For a moment i thought the sms was pretty random, but guess what, i went to the window and look up to the sky and thought "the sky is really very blue..". I stood at the window for a few minutes, staring at the sky.. It was beautiful..I was thinking about when was the last time i looked up to the sky and enjoyed looking at it. At that point of time, i was trying very hard to think of a phrase or a short paragraph of poetic chinese BUT not enough power.. (liqun arh.. read more books..)
Sometimes we get so busy with our work that we missed out on the things that were meant for us to enjoy.

The bible says that there is a time for everything...
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;

a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;

a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;

a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;

a time for war, and a time for peace.
and God made them beautiful...
Ecc 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time...

It was a time of enjoying God's creation even though it was just standing and looking at the sky.

Thank God for making things beautiful...

Thank God!!

I was having dinner at IMM when my friend called me and said...

"When you reached home, go to the teachers' portal, under "students online services", go to "examinations results" and check your results..."

I was like ???!!!!???!!!!????!!!!???!!!
WHAT??!!! Results are out?? It's only 11Dec.. I thought results will only be out on 15 Dec???

Ok, that was what happened during dinner. Thankfully, it did not spoil my dinner but I was really nervous. My mum and my sis were very nice, they ask me not to worry and ask me to trust God. I prayed and ask God to help me to be thankful for the results to prepare myself for the results.

I reached home, showered and got myself ready for the revelation of my first semester result.

And... the results are out... I passed my exams. (Thank God!!)

I did not do super well but the results was beyond my expectations. I thank God that I was still sober enough to give thanks after looking at the results. It's another evidence of God's goodness. For you who have heard from me how i struggled through some of the modules during my first sem, I would want to share that even though I struggled with the modules, God is good and gracious to bring me through the modules.

As I look at my results, besides being thankful, I was also reminded that whatever results I have are given by God. This is a lesson I learned during one of the bible studies on the book of Daniel. It talks about how God is sovereign over all things and he is the one who gives according to His own pleasure. This truth has indeed taught me to be humble and be thankful to God for all the things that I have received.

"How great are his signs, how mighty are his works! His kingdom is an eternal kingdom; his dominion endures from generation to generation." Daniel 4:3

Caution!! Highly Flammable!!

I'm back from camp!!

It was a church camp.. no.. youth camp.. no.. er.. church youth camp.. no.. church youth group camp.. er.. okok. YZ camp.. yup.. that's it.. YZ camp.

For you who do not know what is YZ, it's actually "Youth Zone". Youth Zone is the name of my church's youth group.

So YZ had it's camp from 5-8 Dec at PHS(Prebyterian high school).This year's theme is "Caution, Highly Flammable!!" Guess what, i'm really burnt.. and it's on the lips.. sun-burn on the lips.. don't believe me?? Too bad.. i really had sun burn on my lips. As i'm typing this entry,my lips are BURNING!!! (Thanks to the camp comm for coming up with this theme..) Haha..

The camp was quite good, i had a good time with some of the youths. It just makes me feel young when i'm with them. Hee. Well.. i'm not too old right??

There were games that were fun, messages by ps Edwin that were good, food that fills the empty stomachs and people to have fun with..

I personally think that the FUNnite was really fun. First of all, the war game at night kind of made everyone HIGH. (Everyone as in myself and my group of friends). Secondly, after getting high, we started to act with a pail of rubbish at the basketball court. Then, we move to the empty drive way to do our "Hansel and Gretel" in the "Little Red Ridding Hood" story.. haha.. so we had hansel and gretel visiting their grandma. It was really funny.. the grandma was SOOO cool..

Even though there were not very "happening" things that happened, but the camp was still enjoyable.

Thank God for the weather during the camp..
Thank God for the messages..
Thank God for the interaction with the other youths..
Thank God for EVERYTHING!!

4 Dec 2008 is FUN!!!

Nana, Jin Lin and I went cycling at ECP today..
Nana and Jin Lin wanted to cycle (to burn some calories) and do some sun-tanning... BUT it started to rain when we got there.. so we ate Subwaywhile we waited for the rain to stop..

The drizzle went on and off when we started to cycle, it was quite cooling after the rain and that really made the cycling enjoyable. =)
Everything was ok until Nana decided to "chase" after a St Pat's boy.. and that led us right into an area that was 乌云密布.. by the time we wanted to U-turn, it was too late.. the three of us were caught in the rain... heavy rain.. really heavy rain.. really very heavy rain.. re~... okok.. enough..

We cycled to the Carl's Jr at ECP to 避雨。And we ate fries and drank coffee and lemon tea while waiting for the rain to stop. So we sat at Carl's Jr for about an hour when 2 Starbucks staff came and told us that there's free drinks from 5-7pm, so the three of us left Carl's Jr with much excitement.. looking forward to the FREE coffee!! Hee..

I shall skip the part about the process of queuing up for the coffee.. too long.. too exciting.. especially the digging of treasure.. GO Nana!!!

After the coffee, we took train back home and Nana went to meet her friends. Nana was supposed to meet her friends at 630pm at IMM (i think..) but we left Cityhall only at 610pm.. so Nana was going to be late..

Time: 6:35pm
Venue: in the train (Buona Vista Station)

Nana, Jin Lin and LQ talking among themselves.. then suddenly..

LQ: hey, you are late..

Nana: yar, i know..

LQ: but you are reaching soon.. (smile)

Nana: ...

Nana, Jin Lin and LQ talking about something else..

LQ: but.. you are late..
Jin Lin: (laughing.. )
Nana: tsk.. i know... (roll eyes)

LQ: but you are reaching soon.. hehe
Jin Lin: (laughing.. )
Nana: (roll eyes)

LQ: you are late..
Jin Lin: (laughing.. )
Nana: grr..

LQ: but you are reaching soon..
Jin Lin: (laughing.. )
Nana: Okok.. stop it..

LQ: Ok.. i'll stop it..

after 5 secs...

LQ: but......... you are late..

All 3 burst into laughter (hysterically)... so 丢脸...

It has been an enjoyable day... so cooling.. so wet.. so cold.. so cant stop eating.. so Free coffee.. so cant stop laughing!!!

End of the day.. calories input>calories burnt.. =S
